Besides the standards in our industry as for example the implementation of official rules and regulations as well as review of plans, we have in the past started intensely to deal with the forthcoming environmental regulations and tasks.

Exemplary is th project of an exhaust gas cleaning plant as retro-fit. The difficulty with this project was the hig age of the potential vessel (25+). On a vessel with that age a fixed system would make economically no sense (no amortization in the remaining lifetime of the vessel). The task was to design the plant mobile - easy refittable on another vessel or sale of th equipment. For this the exhaust gas cleaning was integrated into standard container.

The system is based on a long-time proven technology where calcium powder is used as agent fo the absoption of sulphur. This absorption of sulphur oxides leads to calcium sulphate, commonly known as gypsum. This "dry" de-sulphurization plant (Dry EGCS) combines with SCR technology as solution was projected in cooperation with the manufacturer (Couple Systems).

The main target of the project is to reduce the mono-nitrogen oxides (NOx) and the sulphur oxides (SOx) significantly in oder to meet the legal requirements (IMO - Marpol Annex VI). The essential economical advantage is that with this equipment still ISO heavy fuel oil (HFO) with an sulphur content of up to 4.5% can be used.

Furthermore we presently deal with the ballast water treatment which is mandatory for newbuildings as from 2012 and for existing vessels as from January 2014 (larger units as from 2016). We calculate tank and pump capacities, review drawings and plan in cooperation with manufacturers the most economical solution in order to implement the IMO regulations.

We have developed an offshore wind farm supply an transport vessel. Due to its parameters it contrasts itself strongl from existing vessels. We would with pleasure introduce this concept design and its abilities to you personally. 

For all future projects sustainability is of utmost importance (the life cycle assessment should be definately satisfying in all aspects). In times of growing shortage of natural resources and increased environmental pollution is this our first concern.
