Offshore Shipping

Being a shipping company we have good experience in sea and project transport. In the past decades we have gained multiplex know how in offshore logistics. Starting back in the seventies we were participating in the development of transport concepts for the offshore oil industry for the construction of the Ecofisk oil fields. These were then partly carried out by a daughter company.

Beginning of this century we have offered site surveys for offshore wind energy areas. For this we have chartered, converted and equipped vessels (coasters).

We offer the following services:

- Transport and logistics consulting,

- Construction and development of smaller special purpose vessels for the offshore wind industry,

- building supervision and Management,

- Provision of nautical and technical personnel,

- Provision of accommodation concepts and vessels within the wind parks,

- Consulting and intervention in the relation in between authorities and classification societies.

Our team of marine engineers and nautical officers is prepared to assist you in your offshore specific tasks and questions. There are numerous technical tasks occurring in an offshore wind energy plant construction and operation, including the logistical items, which are our daily routine in shipping.

There are a lot synergy effects.

Offshore Service and Maintenance Vessel DP2

It is hardly possible to use for the future standard maintenance of wind energy plants at sea the construction vessels. In addition to that are the smaller workboats / crew transfer vessels (CTV’s) which are not able to stay in the wind parks for longer periods. These vessels need homeport or an offshore station (accommodation vessel or platform) where they always can return to. The operational limits are restricted with these small CTV’S due to tank capacity, time and sea state.

Due to this reason we have developed a compact, light, modular vessel having multiple possibilities for any future use e.g. diver platform, accommodation, workshop, etc.

The vessel is light weight due to the use of carbon fiber reinforced plastics (CFRP) as main building material.

We have a deck space of about 70 sqm (sheltered) and abt. 80 sqm (open) enabling us to store 6 standard 20 ft. or 12 10 ft. container in various locations.

At sea it is possible for the vessel to lift with its own crane about 1.5 tons of cargo onto a platform in 20 meter height (limited by sea states).

The vessel has accommodation possibilities for 24 passengers / special personnel next to the crew in single and/or double cabins with a modern standard.

On the bow the vessel there is a direct docking equipment fitted, enabling the direct person transfer onto the wind energy plant. The light construction and a control system do ensure that the maximum forces brought into the constructions do not exceed the given limits (given by manufacturers of the towers, foundations and boat landings).

The benefits of the carbon fibre reinforced plastics are the reduced fuel consumption as well as enabling the direct docking with relatively large vessels.

Accommodation vessel for 12 Passenger or up to 50 “Special Personnel“

We can offer you on basis of a container feeder vessel an accommodation or service vessel. Due to several possibilities / modules this concept is very flexible.

Different kinds of accommodation modules can also provide the possibility of having office or workshop facilities. The deck area next to the accommodation module gives sufficient space for further use such as storage area or if needed for installing crew transfer vessels of different kind which can be launched if needed. These can be lifted on board during bad weather periods extending the service time immense.

Further we have a large cargo hold. This can be next to storage space for materials and consumables also converted into a large workshop.

Using standard materials and equipment let this concept be an economically very interesting alternative.

At the following link we have listed you different varieties or layouts.

Guard Vessel

What are the basic requirements for a Guard Vessel?

+ + + 24/7 operation + + + 15 kn speed + + + no weather restrictions + + +

+ + + bridge equipment according to SOLAS + + + STCW crew + + +

Why not looking at this from a different perspective... We have made here some thoughts and would like to offer the following Guard Vessel:

The concept is based on a small but modern feeder vessel being able to reach the requested maximum speed of 15 knots.

Being a ship for worldwide trade it is complying with the international standards of equipment according to SOLAS. This involves full equipment of the bridge with all navigational and communication instruments (e.g. ARPA Radar, GPS, autopilot, satellite and radio communication, email via satellite, voyage data recorder, etc.).

Further there is the possibility of installing / supplying an electronic sea chart with a tracking function and log book. With this all relevant ship movements within an designated area can be recorded.

The vessel is manned according to STCW 95.

Due to vessels size and tank capacities it can remain for in any construction area for a very long period.

In order to increase the response time or respectively the response radius it would be recommended to equip the vessel additionally with a fast craft which can be launched if necessary.

The vessel is equipped with a complete ships hospital as well as a treatment room according to SOLAS and the vessels officers are trained according to STCW 95 with the treatment standards at sea. Further the vessel is equipped with lifesaving equipment according to international standards for seagoing ships.

Additional there are various advantages / facilities such as a complete engine workshop, a galley which can serve not only the crew also if needed for example the crews of Crew Transfer Vessels.

On the attached Factsheet we have collected more detailed information for you.
